Multiplication:
We are continuing to work on multiplying 2-digit by 2-digit multiplication. 34 x 45=
ARRAYS:
Things that come in equal rows and columns. *This array represents a 3 by 4 array equaling 12 and a 2 by 7 array equaling 14. This is another way we will be practicing our multiplication facts and looking at the area of things.
Here is a powerpoint we used in class to introduce arrays:
Factors-Numbers you multiply to get a particular number. For example the factors of 12 are; 1, 12, 3, 4, 2, 6
Multiples-Numbers you get when you skip count by a particular number. For example multiples of 3 are: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, etc.
Multiplication KARATE:
GOAL: Demonstrate mathematical fluency by correctly answering multiplication problems in 2 1/2 minutes. For each belt they pass, they will receive that color bead which they save in a container I keep. When they pass black belt, they get to spell our their name with letter beads and string all their beads together to make a keychain!
Yellow Belt: 2's and 3's Green Belt: 3's and 4's Blue Belt: 5's and 6's Purple Belt: 7's and 8's Red Belt: 9's and 10's Black Belt: 11's and 12's
